Viper Fang 24T Suction Rubbers Replaced for Boston Retailer

We received a call recently from the manager of a large retail store in Boston, Lincolnshire to tell us that one of their cleaners had dislodged the suction rubbers on their Viper Fang 24T scrubber dryer leading to a loss of suction.  We sent an engineer along to the store, in Boston, Lincolnshire to assess the damage, replace the clip with a new one and get the machine back to full operational capacity.  Not to be confused with its larger cousin in the United States, Boston is a small port town on the Lincolnshire coast where the local economy revolves around food production and transportation.

Relacing Suction Rubbers on a Viper Fang 24T

After loading his service vehicle with spares for the machines he had on his call list that day, our engineer made the journey over to Boston to repair the machine. The store needed to be kept clean at all times and keeping on top of the floors was a crucial part of this process. For this reason, the cleaners used a Viper Fang 24T Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer as its manoueverability meant that it was easy to navigate the fixtures and fittings dotted around the floor space.

Fortunately the damage to the machine was not bad, it transpired that the cleaner had broken the clip off the bar which holds the suction rubbers in place. This was a relatively simple repair job and it only took a few short minutes to fix a replacement clip to hold the suction rubbers in place and get the machine up to full capacity again.   The machine was then given a working test to make sure it was working as expected and also checked to ensure there was nothing else that had worn and needed replacing.

Whilst on site, the store manager asked our engineer if he had any green scrubbing pads to that would fit the machine; the Viper Fang 24 model is fitted with a 280 mm pad holder which equates to an 11 inch pad.    Our engineers always keep a stock of pads on the van so was able to supply them with two boxes of green pads and thus save them on the delivery charge.  Our engineer also provided the customer with some cleaning chemicals for use with the pads and cleaning the floor. 

It's worth noting that these pads can can be used on both sides so with two boxes the customer was left with a decent supply. Viper Fang 24T Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer

The Viper Fang 24T scrubber-dryer is a robust machine. Measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm, it is housed in moulded plastic but its size means that it is durable whilst also being manoeuvrable. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water, and the 66-litre tank means the user can spend less time emptying and more time cleaning.
As one of the most popular range of machines on the market, it stands to reason that we see a lot of repairs for the Viper range. Usually, these repairs are solely down to improper use of the machine, a lack of preventative maintenance or simply, as it was in this case, an accident.
