A3 Floor Cleaning Machines

The head of cleaning for a major retail store in Bristol , South West England contacted us to report that they had a damaged Karcher BR40/25 scrubber dryer that needed repairing. As a major city in the UK, Bristol boasts a large amount of retail stores many of which are our clients, so we are often in the area. Assessing the Karcher Damage One of our engineers left our headquarters in Shropshire to make the journey down to the Retail Store in Bristol to assess the damage to the floor cleaning machine they used. The store had company standards to meet and part of this was keeping the floors looking immaculate for customers. However, this task was made all the harder after their machine, a Karcher BR40/25 Battery Powered Scrubber Dryer had become accidentally damaged falling down a set of stairs leading from the back of the storage area onto the concrete floor of the yard outside. Upon first sight of the machine, our engineer could tell that this was not going to be an easy task. ...

It’s nearly June and the summer holidays are rapidly approaching. Whilst many might be looking forward to a couple of weeks off in the sun, the summer recession is one of the few times of the year when long maintenance activities can happen.  An example being that thorough holiday clean that takes place in schools around the country over the summer and we should give a thought to the army of school caretakers and cleaning staff who are planning to do exactly that. Cleaning Floors the Easy Way At A3 Machines we often come across cleaning staff who are still cleaning floors the old-fashioned way with a mop and a bucket; which lets face it moves dirt around rather than removes it.  Modern floor scrubber dryers are the best way to tackle the regular cleaning of school floors, they scrub, extract dirt and dry the floor in one swift and efficient action and means you don’t need to wait until the holidays to give your floors a deep clean. On this occasion, we received a call from a retail store indicating that their Karcher floor scrubber had broken down and needed repair. We sent an engineer to the store, located in Liverpool to see what could be done to remedy the issues they were experiencing. Liverpool is roughly 60 miles north of our base in Market Drayton and is actually the fifth most populous city in the United Kingdom. It’s quite a famous city that was declared the European Capital of Culture in 2008-09 and boasts a rich artistic scene. Karcher Floor Scrubber Fault Finding We treat all our service calls as urgent due to the need for our customers to regularly meet hygiene standards at their premises. So our engineer was dispatched to assess the machine and resolve the situation as soon as possible. An inspection of the machine revealed that the drive belt had snapped. This had been exacerbated by water getting into the drive due to general wear and tear. The water had leaked in, softened the belt and cau...

KARCHER is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pressure washers and floor cleaning equipment such as the Karcher BR40/25 . Known fully as Alfred Karcher GmbH & Co. KG, it is a family owned German company based in Winnenden . Karcher are certainly a household name in the UK and I suspect throughout Europe due mainly to the popularity of their “Home and Garden” range which many reading this article will recognise. Less well know is that Karcher also have a good reputation in commercial cleaning equipment with their “Professional” range which covers everything from small vacuum cleaners up to large ride on municipal sweepers. For the purpose of this article however we are going to focus on the Karcher BR40/25 which has proved very popular our clients with smaller areas to clean such as restaurants and smaller retail stores.   Please note that Karcher are constantly reviewing their product line and have now replaced the BR40/25 (400mm cleaning width, 25 litre ta...

Another call we received over the Christmas holidays was a call from a fashion retail store regarding the malfunction of their Karcher BR40/25 scrubber drier. The store was located in Birmingham , West Midlands. Birmingham is the second largest city in the United Kingdom and known as the “Workshop of the World” for its history of cutting edge development in the sciences and industry. Incidentally Birmingham also has a rich artistic culture, ranging from literature, (the home of J.R.R Tolkein, author of The Lord of the Rings ) to music, as it is the origin of Heavy Metal. Getting back to the story, the owner of the independent fashion store contacted us to say the brushes on his floor cleaning machine were not rotating when the machine was powered on. He had bought his machine from another supplier but could not get any assistance from them as they were closed throughout the Christmas period. He had found our number by using the Google search engine. We were only too happy to help ou...
