Rubber Gym Floor Cleaning Machine for CrossFit Beorn
The owner of CrossFit Beorn in Bury St Edmunds contacted us recently about supplying a rubber gym floor cleaning machine. As it turns out he had already been browsing our website and spotted we had a reconditioned Karcher BD40/25C scrubber dryer available which he felt would be suitable for the job.
Here at A3 Machines we get asked to supply equipment for all sorts of environments and from experience I can tell you that when it comes to floor cleaning you really need to try before you buy. With this in mind we offered to come across to the Gym in Suffolk and demonstrate the machine on-site cleaning the rubber flooring.
Due to the nature of the business the floor was fitted out with large sections of rubber matting to prevent slipping and provide an impact absorbing surface more suitable to high intensity workout activities. The flooring works well for their needs however they want to present a clean environment for their customers but have had trouble removing dirty footprints and heavy chalk marks, especially around the area where the pull up rings are situated. Textured surfaces are well known for being difficult to clean as they can become easily ingrained with dirt.

The chalk marks are the biggest issue

The machine worked well on the rubber flooring and the owner of the gym was very impressed, especially when he saw how thick and dirty the water was inside the recovery tank. Convinced this was the machine for the job he decided to buy the machine which we left with him, hence saving a delivery charge.

Demonstrating Rubber Gym Floor Cleaning with a Karcher BD40/25C
The Karcher BD40/25C was setup on site and the clean water tank filled with water and a mild detergent. The machine was the run over the rubber flooring to see how it would cope. The machine works by releasing the diluted detergent onto the flooring and then immediately scrubbing it into the surface using a polypropylene brush. This action released the dirt from the floor whilst a suction vacuum and hose extract the now soiled detergent into a separate tank on the machine.
