Noisy Viper Charger Replacement at Letchworth Warehouse
A call came through to the service desk from a warehouse cleaning supervisor requesting a charger replacement for their Viper floor cleaning machine. The charger was making a loud noise when plugged in and the cleaning team were wary of using it.
The warehouse was located in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Letchworth Garden City, to give the place its full title, is notable for being one of the UK’s first cities to whose planning principles favoured the best elements of suburban and countryside architecture making it a very nice place to live and always a pleasure to visit.
As we already had an engineer in that area, we were able to respond very quickly and reroute his schedule so that he could call into the warehouse and drop off a replacement. This was a quick fix for our engineer; we maintain over 800 Viper machines in the UK so we always carry charger replacements on our vehicles. As the old charger had been broken due to its being dropped, all the engineer needed to do was replace it with a new one. Once he made the switch, he tested the machine and of course, the battery was charging properly, and the machine was in full working order once again.
The machine is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover however like all machines wear and misuse can lead to problems and an A3 Service contract is advised to ensure maximum operational availability.
