Leaking Viper Fang 20HD Repair at Berkshire Stationers

Our service team recently responded to a call regarding a leaking Viper Fang 20HD scrubber dryer. The customer was from a Berkshire branch of “Office Outlet”, a supplier of office and stationery products with over 90 stores in the UK from Aberdeen to York (alphabetically speaking). The main fault they described was that the machine was leaking dirty water back on to the floor instead of extracting it back into the recovery tank. It sounded as though their machine needed some care and attention so one of our engineers was sent down to Berkshire to take a look.

Fault Finding on a Leaking Viper Fang 20HD

Our engineer made the trip to the Office Outlet in Berkshire to get their floor cleaning machine operational again. From the details given by the customer to our staff in the office, the engineer suspected that the leaking viper machine was simply in need of some maintenance, these machines get a lot of use and without regular attention problems can escalate. If you have ever been to an Office Outlet store you will be aware of the large retail floor space but less aware of the difficulties in keeping the floor clean. Although not as busy as a supermarket the store needs to keep on top of any dirt and soiling trodden into the store by customers that can easily mark their products, especially stationery and office furniture. The store is split into aisles and so to keep the floor clean they use a Viper Fang 20HD Battery Operated Scrubber Drier, which being highly manoeuvrable and only 56cm wide is highly suitable for the task.

When the engineer arrived, he carried out his initial inspection with a focus on finding the leak and it was evident to him that the machine had been in constant use. He confirmed this with the customer who informed him the machine was about five years old and was used after closing time at the end of each day. This, coupled with some general neglect had resulted in the filter in the machine becoming blocked and the suction rubbers wearing down, limiting its contact with the floor. Our engineer also noticed a crack in the hose. From the stock carried on his service vehicle, our engineer was able to replace the filter, the suction rubber and the hose with new components, after which he gave the machine a thorough clean.

Whilst there, he of course gave advice on preventative maintenance, e.g. regular cleaning of the filter and water tank including descaling and the need to give the machine a general check once a week. All of these simple measures will help to keep the machine up and running.

Viper Fang 20HD Battery Powered Scrubber Drier

The Viper Fang 20HD is a medium-sized walk-behind scrubber dryer engineered to be robust, reliable and service friendly. Its ergonomic design allows you to easily see the floors around the machine and the variable pad pressure feature makes it possible to adjust the applied force to suit your cleaning needs allowing you to increase pressure for the tougher dirtier areas. A big 61 litre tank capacity and a longer battery run time make it possible to clean for a longer time than its competitors.
