Repairing a Leaking Floor Scrubber at Discount Shop in Nottingham
We received a call from a cleaning contractor who runs a cleaning team at discount retail store regarding a floor scrubber machine. The store reported that their machine had recently started to leak water whilst in operation and naturally concerned they decided to call us in to have the machine inspected and repaired. We have a number of engineers who travel around the country carrying out repairs and arranged for one of our engineers to make an inspection of the machine and carry out any necessary repairs if possible.
The store was located in Nottingham, in the Midlands which is about a 90 minute trip east of our base in Market Drayton along the A50. Your probably already aware that Nottingham is most famous as being the setting for the story of Robin Hood but did you know that it’s also one of the most densely populated cities in the United Kingdom and the home of writer D.H. Lawrence, who, amongst others contributed to a literary culture which earned Nottingham the UNESCO title “City of Literature” in 2015.

Assessing the Leaking Floor Scrubber
Our engineer travelled down to Nottingham, to inspect and repair the machine which was the popular Viper Fang 24T. The discount retail store was very popular and one of the larger stores in the area with an expansive floor area that needed cleaning on a daily basis especially during the wet weather we experience during the winter. Upon arrival our engineer got to work stripping down the machine in order to locate the source of the problem which was traced to a faulty solenoid valve. This is an electromechanical valve, whereby current is passed through a solenoid to trigger switches, which in turn closes outlets on the valve. If this is faulty, water is going to pass through the valve incorrectly, causing leakage. Fortunately, solenoid valves are quite common, and our engineer had plenty of spares in the van, so he was able to replace the valve there and then.Viper Fang 24T Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Drier
The Viper Fang 24T features a 66 litre tank and is a robust machine measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water. Before handing the machine back to the customer is was given a thorough inspection and run through a series of operational tests. All was well and with the customer satisfied with the results and the machine is once again running at its peak. Aside from repairing the machine, the engineer offered in depth advice about the future maintenance of the floor scrubber machine, demonstrating the most effective way to descale the water. Advice on preventative maintenance and proper care of the machines is something that is always offered to customers.Floor Scrubber Drier Repaired at Discount Retail Store in Nottingham
