We were contacted by the head of the cleaning services department at a retail store in the market town of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, an area with a long industrial heritage that dates back to the Iron Age. The town is located around 11 miles from Northampton itself and an A3 engineer was sent to the retail store to assess and repair a broken Viper Fang machine used in the routine floor cleaning within the store.

Investigating and Repairing a Viper Fang Machine

As a retail store, obviously the high turnout of customer footfall will over time scuff the floor. Not to mention the need to meet store and hygiene standards, regular use of the Viper Fang 24 pedestrian scrubber dryer is essential in keeping the hard floors clean. As a fully battery powered machine, the Viper Fang 24 eliminates the risks inherent when using wired machines, such as trip hazard instead making it easy to clean between aisles and stands used in retail stores. While it is a sturdy machine, on this occasion, an engineer was called to administer repairs to the Viper Fang 24, which had been inadvertently broken by a member of staff. The head of cleaning advised the engineer that the staff member had accidentally bent the rear bar on which the suction rubber is affixed. After receiving the call, the engineer attended the store on the same day and after checking over the Viper Fang machine, confirmed what the head of cleaning in the store had surmised. The engineer then began the process of replacing the damaged bar with a brand new part and re-affixing the suction rubber to the bar. As always, the machine was fully tested by the engineer after making the repairs to ensure that the fixes applied had completely solved the problem. This is also done to make sure there are no other issues that had not been spotted by cleaning staff. The repairs proved to be successful and the Viper Fang 24T was back in proper working order. The customer was very satisfied with the prompt and effective repairs. Even though the damage was accidental, full preventative maintenance advice was provided to the customer, as is standard when engineers make repairs to machines, whether they be hired, leased or purchased.

Viper Fang 24 Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer

The Viper 24 features a 66 litre tank and is a robust machine measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water.
