Viper Fang 24T Repair at a Large Retail Store in Towcester
A large retail store had reported that the Viper Fang 24T machine they had hired had ceased to suck up the dirty water which is accumulated during the cleaning process. The store is located in the small market town of Towcester, Northamptonshire, known for its Roman heritage and always a pleasure to visit if you get the chance. An engineer was sent out to inspect the machine and make the necessary repairs, carry out testing to ensure the machine was performing adequately again, and give advice to the cleaning staff at the store about regular maintenance.
The machine was a Viper Fang 24T pedestrian scrubber dryer which is known for being a robust and reliable machine. After inspecting the machine, the engineer traced the source of the problem to the suction rubbers which had split. The cause of the unusual wear was traced to the machine travelling over sharp, protruding and loose floor tiles. This had caused the rupture of the suction rubbers, resulting in the machine not picking up the dirty water left behind during cleaning.
On top of this, the Viper Fang 24T water tank itself needed descaling. This needs to be done as part of proper maintenance, but was even more necessary in Towcester, which is built on an area of limestone and chalk. When water percolates through these types of sediment, it inherits a high mineral content. Over time, this sediment is left behind on things that regular contain or come into contact with water – this is known as hard water.
The engineer fitted the Viper Fang 24 with new suction rubbers and descaled the water tank so that the machine would not only recover dirty water as it is supposed to, but also to bring the machine back to its optimum performance level.
The customer was satisfied with the results and the machine is once again running at its peak. Aside from repairing the machine, the engineer offered in depth advice about the future maintenance of the machine, demonstrating the most effective way to descale the water tanks. Advice on preventative maintenance and proper care of the machines is something that is always offered to customers.
Assessing The Machine
An engineer from our Machine Servicing Department was sent out to the retail store in Towcester to inspect the machine and isolate the source of the problem. As a large store in the town, it had a vast amount of tiled floor space, which, as a result of regular customer foot fall and trolley traffic, needs consistent cleaning to meet store and hygiene standards. Thus, it was very important for the engineer to assess the machine and remedy the issue. The machine was a Viper Fang 24T pedestrian scrubber dryer which is known for being a robust and reliable machine. Viper Fang 24 Battery Powered Scrubber Dryer
The Viper 24 features a 66 litre tank and is a robust machine measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water. The customer was satisfied with the results and the machine is once again running at its peak.
