Viper and Karcher Cleaning Machine Demo at Stoke-on-Trent Pottery Factory

We were recently contacted by an existing customer of ours in Stoke-on-Trent who are a well known manufacturer of high end pottery tableware in Stoke-on-Trent. They were looking for a floor cleaning machine for their three storey high Victorian building which was the base for their manufacturing business. Also known as the Potteries, Stoke-on-Trent has a long heritage in the pottery industry with many famous brands based there.

Choosing the Right Floor Cleaning Machine

In order to recommend the right machine we made an initial site visit to assess the condition and material of the floors. Stoke-on-Trent isn’t too far from our base in Shropshire but its worth noting we are happy to make the effort to travel anywhere in England and Wales to carry out a demonstration.
We found all three floors to be concrete and painted with red floor paint and the overall square meterage of the floors was 1,115m2 (approx 12,000 sq feet). Due to the nature of the business, the floors soon become covered in dust and clay residue and keeping their floors clean is an important health and safety issue for them and as well as making pottery they also run guided factory tours.
After accessing the client’s needs we returned two days later to carry out an on-premises demonstration of two machines that would be a good fit for their needs. The machines were a Viper AS5160 and a Karcher BR40 25 scrubber dryer, both machines are battery powered so there’s no training power lead that can cause a trip or electrical hazard which is especially relevant when dealing with wet floors.

The first machine to be demonstrated was the “Viper AS5160” which is a highly productive battery powered walk-behind scrubber dryer with a high capacity 61 litre solution and waste recovery tank and a 100 Ah endurance battery that allows it to clean for hours.

Next up was the “Karcher BR 40/25” which also battery powered has a clever tank in tank design which has resulted in a slightly more compact unit. It’s very similar to the Viper but has a smaller 25 litre solution and waste recovery tank and 76 Ah battery.

Both of these machines cleaned to an equally high standard, but due to the size of the floor area, they decided to go for the Viper 5160 which has a larger tank capacity meaning less emptying and refilling.

Having made the decision there and then, we were able to leave the Viper AS5160 with the customer, which gave them the added advantage of no delivery costs.
It’s worth noting that as well as selling new machines we also hold stock of reconditioned scrubber dryers and can provide machines on long term lease and short term rental.
