Floor Cleaning Machine Repair for Manchester Fashion Retailer

We received a call from the cleaning operations staff at a fashion retailer regarding their Floor Cleaning Machine. The customer had reported that their machine, a Viper Fang 24T purchased a few years back from another supplier, had stopped working. They had found out about our services through one of our marketing mail shots and noted that in addition to selling new and reconditioned machines we also offer nationwide service and repairs of all types of floor cleaning machines.

The retail park was located in Manchester which I’m sure your aware is a major city in the northwest of England with a rich industrial heritage that started with the textile industry. As well as its engineering and scientific achievements it probably most famous globally for its football clubs.

Assessing the Floor Cleaning Machine

As a large retail park in a very busy city, the site attracts customers from all over the country. As such, it features vast areas of floor space and sees heavy customer footfall. This means that scuffing and general soiling from shoes can cause the floors to become dirty quite quickly and keeping on top of this requires regular cleaning and buffing. Hence, the customer used a Viper Fang 24T battery powered pedestrian scrubber dryer which is perfect for cleaning larger areas but also manoeuvrable enough to navigate between features, walls and edges.

When the engineer inspected the machine, he found that the batteries were completely worn out and the wiring was in a very bad state. This was probably due to the age of the machine and the frequency of its use. Aside from these issues, the Anderson plug had been badly damaged causing it to crack open and the wires to short. Anderson plugs are generally used to convey higher DC power and are electrically hermaphroditic, avoiding the need to worry about male and female connections.

The engineer was able to replace the batteries and solder in new wiring. He also replaced the Anderson plug and carried out a full on-site test including PAT testing to ensure the machine was fully operational.

The customer was satisfied with the results and the floor cleaning machine is once again running at its peak. Aside from repairing the machine, the engineer offered in depth advice about the future maintenance of the machine, demonstrating the most effective way to descale the water tanks and highlighting the importance of regularly greasing the bolts. Advice on preventative maintenance and proper care of the machines is something that is always offered to customers. The customer was pleased to have the machine back in service and has since taken out a service plan with us.

Viper Fang 24T Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer

The Viper 24 features is a robust floor cleaning machine with a 66 litre tank and measures 141 x 66 x 100cm. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water.
