Concrete Floor Cleaning Machine Repaired at Doncaster Warehouse
We recently received a call from the head of cleaning at a food storage warehouse regarding their concrete floor cleaning machine, which was not functioning as it should be. The warehouse was located in Doncaster, South Yorkshire which being close to the M1 and M18 motorways and rail network Doncaster is very well situated and has become home to several major distribution warehouses.
The machine, a Viper Fang 20 battery powered walk-behind scrubber dryer was inspected by our engineer. Upon inspection, the source of the problem became clear – there was no suction rubber attached, meaning that the metal bar on which the suction rubber should be affixed was scraping the concrete floor, creating the screeching sound and preventing the machine from sucking up the waste water. A brief search in the area where the Viper Fang 20 was stored revealed that the suction rubber was right there on the floor in the storage room. It later transpired that the rubber was removed for cleaning and never reattached. Our engineer simply reattached the suction rubber and several red faces later, the machine was back in full working order.
As always, advice was given about preventative maintenance going forward, but this repair was down to human error. That said, the customer was very happy with the service we provided and are having no further issues with their machine.
Assessing the Concrete Floor Cleaning Machine
As a large food storage warehouse, rigorous hygiene standards must be met in order to avoid contamination, on top of this the warehouse was very busy in the run up to Christmas holidays. As such, it’s essential that the concrete floor cleaning work is completed regularly, so it was important for our engineer to diagnose the issue and make the appropriate repairs as soon as possible. The machine, a Viper Fang 20 battery powered walk-behind scrubber dryer was inspected by our engineer.
