Training Cleaning Staff at Bargain Retailer in Chorley, Lancashire

Training cleaning staff in the use of their floor cleaning equipment is a service we always offer to our customers, regardless of whether the machine they have purchased is new or reconditioned. We normally send our Engineers to do the training as they can deliver the machine and provide training at the same time, they have also built up an invaluable experience in how not to use the machine and can usually recite a scenario or two that keeps the training interesting.

On this occasion one of our large corporate customers had purchased a new Viper Fang 24T Battery Operated Scrubber Dryer for their store in Chorley, Lancashire and as so an Engineer was assigned to pay them a visit on-site to provide the training. The store is located in the Market Walk Shopping Centre which has proved to be very popular with shoppers and is being extended in 2019 to include more parking and a six-screen Cinema.

Training Cleaning Staff

Prevention is always better than cure and we find having a training workforce cuts down on support needs and more importantly unnecessary call-outs due to mishandling. Our Training Cleaning Staff program is very comprehensive and concentrates on providing hands-on operation of the machine as well as preventative maintenance. As well as training the staff we also find its best practice to provide extra training to a long term member of staff or manager who can then provide training to new members of staff later, i.e. train the trainer. However, staff turnover can be quite high in the cleaning sector so this doesn’t always work out, in these cases, we are always happy to re-visit and give additional training.

The cleaning team at the store in Chorley comprised of five members of staff to who he gave group training followed by individual sessions so that each member had hands on experience with the machine. Our train the trainer session was given to the team manager who will now be responsible for the training of new staff as and when it is required. We also suggested that the manager takes time to ensure that the cleaning team carries out the preventative maintenance checks at the intervals recommended in the Viper Fang 24T user manual (see link below).

The cleaning team at the store are now fully up to speed on their floor cleaning machine which is now in regular use.

Viper Fang 24T/26T/28T Training Program
