Scrubber Dryer Battery Replaced at Frome Retailer

The maintenance manager of a large retail store in the old market town of Frome, contacted us recently to report that their floor cleaning machine was cutting out after a mere 10 minutes of operation. In our experience this issue is usually caused by a faulty scrubber dryer battery and so we arranged for one our engineers to travel down to Somerset and find out if that was indeed the root cause. Located at the eastern edge of the Mendip hills, Frome it a lovely town that dates back to Roman times and is very popular with tourists, this demand has helped to sustain a healthily retail industry.

Scrubber Dryer Battery Testing

We sent one of our engineers down to Somerset to examine the machine and determine if the problem was indeed related to a faulty scrubber dryer battery. After giving the floor cleaning machine a once over, he discovered that one of the batteries in the machine was faulty and was simply not holding a charge. The machine in question was a Viper Fang 24 Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer which is powered by two high capacity 12-volt batteries and with only one working at full strength it wasn't long before the output voltage dropped making the machine unusable. This was a major concern for the manager as the floors of the store needed to be kept clean in the face of scuffing and staining from regular customer footfall. Fortunately the current heatwave had meant that the floors had not become as dirty as usual however with talk of thunderstorms on the way it was vital the machine was back in operation as soon as possible.

Suspecting the problem was related to the scrubber dryer battery our engineer had ensured he had a stock of spare batteries and other Viper spares on his vehicle before he set off. He was therefore able to make the necessary replacement quickly and without much trouble. Whilst there, our engineer carried out a service of the machine, making sure all aspects of it were in full working order and that no other problems would surface after he left.

All was well with the machine, the only issue found was the battery and given then amount of use these machines get over the years its not unreasonable to find a battery in need of replacement. The machine has now been put back into operation and the customer was very satisfied with the work carried out.

Viper Fang 24 Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer

The Viper 24 scrubber-dryer is a robust machine. Measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm, it is housed in moulded plastic, but its size means that it is durable whilst also being manoeuvrable. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water, and the 66-litre tank means the user can spend less time emptying and more time cleaning.
