Viper Fang Caster Replacement for Retailer in Rochdale
We received a phone call from a customer who reported an unusual issue with their floor cleaning machine. According to the customer, a rear viper fang caster (to give its full title) had come loose from their scrubber dryer a few weeks earlier.
It seems they still been able to use the machine although it felt “a little lopsided”, however realising this problem needed to be resolved they decided to give us a call. The customer was based in a retail store in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, where the Rochdale Exchange and the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centres offer a wide variety of shops for customers in the town. With a population of just over 200,000 the retail stores in the area and very busy, as are the machines cleaning their floors, so it’s not surprising they kept on using the machine for so long before reporting it.
To get the job done, the staff used a Viper Fang 24T Battery Powered Pedestrian Scrubber Drier. We already knew the problem from what the customer had told our staff in the office over the phone, so we didn’t anticipate having to spend a great deal of time at the store and so armed with spare casters the call was routed into that engineers list of calls for the day. When he arrived, our engineer inspected the machine and suspected that the caster had been knocked at some point causing damage to its mounting and eventually resulting in the bolts becoming loose and the caster becoming detached from the machine.
A replacement viper fang caster was quickly fitted, and the machine was switched on and tested. The testing was needed to confirm the replacement caster was operating as expected but also to ensure no other problems needed addressing as the last thing we want is a call back.

Viper Fang 24T Pedestrian Scrubber Dryer
The Viper 24 scrubber-dryer is a robust machine. Measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm, it is housed in moulded plastic, but its size means that it is durable whilst also being manoeuvrable. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank.
