It was with great pleasure that we recently attended the John Beddoes Campus of Newtown High School in Wales to demonstrate a Taski Ergodisc 17” floor polisher. We were there at the request of the school who were looking for a new machine to replace their Taski Ranger 15” floor polisher which had given them 20-years of service. In fact, the old machine had been used on a daily basis during term times to polish the non-slip assembly hall vinyl floor; I don’t think anyone could complain at that and what a testament to reliability of Taski machinery. He provided for the establishment of a “free grammar school to bring up the youth .... in virtue, discipline and learning“, and this remains as the ethos of the school today. A customer recently contacted A3 Machines with an urgent hire request for multiple cleaning machines and wanted to visit our premises in Market Drayton for a demonstration. It turns out that they had recently been awarded a large cleaning contract for a factory which needed to be cleaned five days a week. Many of the areas required sweeping prior to cleaning due to a large amount of debris left daily on the floors so several different types of machines would be required. Once of our engineers reported back that a call we sent him on recently was caused by a severe build-up of Limescale and to resolve he had to run through a solution tank descaling procedure several times before the machine would dispense water onto the floor again. The call originated from a customer in Stoke-on-Trent who operate a discount store there; they reported that their Viper Fang 20 HD scrubber dryer would not dispense cleaning fluid onto the floor during operation and suspecting a mechanical fault requested an engineer attend and fix the problem. We recently sent an Engineer over to Liverpool to replace a damaged squeegee bar on a Viper Fang 20 HD Scrubber Dryer which had inadvertently become caught whilst pulling the machine out of a lift, the bar was now slightly bent and no longer as effective. The office building in Liverpool was occupied by a large law firm who employ over 150 people. The scrubber dryer was used every week night to clean the canteen and corridor floors and the lift was the only practical way to move the machine between floors. The squeegee bar which is sometimes referred to as the suction bar is the curved bar that runs at the back of the machine to collect the dirty water from the floor and extract it into the recovery tank using a vacuum. The bar uses a long rubber strip to scrape the water off the floor and needs to be straight in order to maintain a good contact with the floor. A3 Machines recently took a call from the manager of a supermarket in Hanley , Stoke-on-Trent, who was looking for Floor Polisher Hire . It turns out they had just completed an extensive refurbishment of their store and the Terrazzo tiled floor was now in a very poor state and in of a face lift. Polishing Terrazzo Flooring Terrazzo is the by-product of broken pieces of stone often Marble, Limestone and Granite, which rather than being wasted are set into to a cement screed and poured onto the floor or as in this case formed into a tile which once set is grinded to a polished finish. Like any polished stone Terrazzo will lose its appearance over time and the best way to restore it is burnish it with diamond encrusted pads of different grits.
