Viper Fang 24T Cleaning Machine Repaired at Fishguard Primary School

One of our cleaning machine engineers attended a Primary School in Fishguard last week that had a fault with their Viper Fang 24T scrubber dryer. The school reported that the machine had stared smelling and leaking black streaks behind when in use. The school rely on this machine to provide a clean environment for the children who as you can image can cause quite a mess at times.

Fishguard is a coastal town on the Welsh Pembrokeshire coast which is quite a remote yet beautiful area. A3 Machines clients stretch right across the country so its not unusual to find our engineers putting in some miles to resolve a machine issue. This is why we always take time to train our customers in the operation and maintenance of their machines when we are on-site, it also helps minimise downtime for the customers.

Repairing a Viper Fang 24T Scrubber Dryer in Pembrokeshire

It’s a good four-hour drive to Fishguard from our service centre in Market Drayton so we dispatched an engineer the following day loaded with spare Viper parts and a replacement floor cleaning machine should the problem prove difficult to repair on site.

Once on site the machine was put through a series of tests and inspections to determine the root cause of the leak and source of the unpopular odour. It turns out that there was a blocked filter in the recovery tank leading to soil and stagnant water being trapped in the machine. This explained the smell and would also explain why water was being left on the floor. This is quite a regular problem with scrubber dryers in general and is easily avoided by ensuring the filters are regularly checked.

The black streaks were traced to the squeegee which trails along the floor at the back of the machine and is used to capture water from the floor into the recovery tank. The rubber was split and needed to be replaced; after replacing the rubber squeegee it’s important to test the machine and adjust the squeegee to ensure its level on the floor and is evenly collecting the water correctly.

Once the blockage had been cleared and the Squeegee replaced our engineer spent time ensuring the cleaning machine was in good working order and that the operator knew how to carry out the regular checks. At this point it also became apparent that the wrong cleaning detergent was being used in the machine. It’s important that you use the recommended product as some cleaning solutions can reduce the life of the rubbers used within the machine. It worth noting A3 Machines sell a full range of cleaning detergents and other consumables such as pads at competitive prices for all the machines we service and sell so if in doubt do get in touch.

Viper Fang 24T Battery Powered Floor Cleaning machine

The Viper Fang 24T scrubber-dryer is a robust floor cleaning machine. Measuring 141 x 66 x 100cm, it is housed in moulded plastic, but its size means that it is durable whilst also being manoeuvrable. It is protected by front and rear collision protection and an impact-proof cover. It works in virtue of two tanks, one of which releases clean water and chemicals. The brushes then scrub the floor and the dirty water is sucked up as the machine moves over it, depositing the dirty water in the second tank. This makes it very simple to dispose of the dirty water, and the 66-litre tank means the user can spend less time emptying and more time cleaning.

Variable pad pressure makes it possible to adjust to your cleaning needs. For more dirty areas just add more pad pressure. The large detergent and recovery tanks combined with the high capacity batteries makes it possible to clean for a long time. You will find it ideally suitable for scrubbing and drying in tough and dirty environments such as building contractors and industrial environments.

The customer was satisfied with the work carried out and our engineer was able to sign off on the job knowing he had left the customer with a fully-functional floor cleaning machine that was unlikely to cause any further problems.
