Following a response from one of our marketing programs we were asked to visit a private nursing home in North Wales who were interested in a floor cleaning machine. Assessing the Floor Cleaning Requirements of a Nursing Home The home caters for elderly people with dementia and is situated in a very large old manor house. The majority of the floors are carpeted with the exception of the dining hall, slouch room, bathrooms and resident’s private bathrooms.  The home consists of twenty bedrooms, all with en suite shower rooms, three residents’ lounges, one dining room, a large kitchen, staff room, two large bathrooms and a slouch room. This week one of our engineers were sent to a car showroom in to assess a broken Nilfisk BA 530 floor scrubber dryer machine . The car showroom was located in Bristol one of the UK’s leading industrial powerhouses. Interestingly in an attempt to encourage consumers to shop with its local and independent business and retailers, the local government introduced a complementary currency there called the “ Bristol Pound ” (£B) which is valued against the Pound Sterling (£). We were informed over the phone that the machine was suffering from a loose hose which kept “falling off”. A large-scale retailer of food and fresh goods were expecting a high-profile visitor and as such, wanted to give their store a thorough clean. However, after not being used for some time, the floor cleaning machines were in need of servicing and repairs. Recently one of our engineers found themselves detained in Cumbria at one of Her Majesty's Category C Prisons . I know what you are thinking but he was actually there servicing cleaning machines that were intended to be used for cleaning carpets, altro and vinyl flooring . Cumbria is a large county in North West England and the prison that requested the servicing houses over 600 prisoners. It was built on the site of an old RAF training centre which was converted into a prison facility in 1967. Whilst some of the prison's workshops and offices are housed in buildings from that era, most have been extensively modernised over the years. Our engineers have been very busy this week primarily visiting and servicing cleaning machines at retail stores all around the county. It was no surprise therefore to get another call from a retailer needing assistance, this time in based in Luton, Bedfordshire. The customer was calling from a large retail store in the town, informing us that their Taski Swingo 1255B floor cleaning machine was switching on fine, but was not functioning properly. An engineer was sent to the store to inspect the machine, locate the source of the fault and make on site repairs to get the machine in full working order again.
